Form Goblin Privacy Policy
Local-first draft recovery for the web
Form Goblin helps prevent lost work by automatically saving supported form drafts in your browser and restoring them after reloads, crashes, or accidental tab closure.
What Form Goblin stores
- Text you type into supported form fields, such as text inputs, textareas, some contenteditable areas, and certain select fields.
- Extension settings, such as whether auto-restore is enabled, whether the save-status chip is shown, and which sites or domains are disabled.
- Optional file upload reminders, which may store file names only so you can remember what was selected before. Actual local files are not stored or uploaded by the extension.
What Form Goblin does not try to save
Form Goblin is designed to ignore sensitive fields such as password fields and common payment-related inputs when possible. It is meant to recover user-written content, not credentials or hidden secrets.
How your data is used
Stored draft data is used only to provide the extension’s core functionality: saving drafts locally, restoring them later, and applying your extension preferences on supported websites.
Form Goblin does not require an account for core functionality and does not sell your data.
Where data is stored
Form Goblin uses browser extension storage to keep drafts and settings available between page reloads and browser restarts. Core draft recovery is local-first and does not require a remote server.
Permissions
- Host permissions: Used so the extension can run on webpages and detect supported form fields for saving and restoring drafts.
- Storage: Used to store saved drafts and extension settings in the browser.
- Tabs: If present in the extension manifest, used to identify the current site so popup controls can apply site-specific settings.
Your choices
- You can disable Form Goblin on specific websites.
- You can clear saved drafts and settings from the extension.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time.
